SECURITY SKILLS TRAINING
STANDARD TERMS & CONDITIONS - INDIVIDUAL
1. Confirmation of booking / Payments.
Course payments are to be made in full to secure your place on a course. Payment can be made by Paypal, Cash or Bank Transfer – Please advise your chosen payment method upon booking. For information on cancellations or transfers, please refer to items 4 and 5 listed below.By registering, purchasing, or using any course, you agree to our terms and privacy policy. Payment may be accepted by invoice from companies, payment terms are usually 30 days but can be negotiated to a maximum of 45 days.
2. Illness. Injury, Acts of God.
In the event of illness or some other unavoidable impediment to trainer availability, Security Skills Training reserves the right to use replacement trainers of a suitable caliber, if available at short notice. In the unlikely event that the training cannot take place as agreed due to trainer illness or impediment or due to travel problems caused by hazardous road or weather conditions, Security Skills Training reserves the right to cancel the training. 3. Course Fees.
Must be paid in full prior to a course commencing.
4. Cancellation of Confirmed Course Dates - Cancellation fees
Should course be cancelled by the candidate prior to the course commencing once confirmed the following sliding scale of charges apply:
Greater than 28 days prior to the course start date £25 admin fee
14 - 28 days prior to course start date 50% of course fees
7- 14 days prior to course start date 75% of course fees
7 days or less prior to the course start date 100% of course fees
5. Transfer of Dates
Should circumstances mean that you need to transfer course dates, the following sliding scale of charges apply:
Greater than 28 days prior to the course start date £25 admin fee
14 -28 days prior to course date 25% of course fees
Less than 14 days prior to course date 50% of course fees
All transfers must be made within a period of six months.
6. Attendance
Courses have strict minimum contact time. 100% attendance is mandatory. Late arrivals or unacceptable behavior result in exclusion without a refund.
7. Eligibility
Ensure you meet criteria before booking. Full details can be found at Security Industry Authority - GOV.UK. The minimum age is 18. Bookings are non-refundable but transferable to eligible individuals. Please refer to item 12.
8. Resits
Charged at £50 per unit paid in advance.
9. Certificates
Electronic certificates will be issued free when released by the awarding organisation. If a candidate requires a paper copy, they will be issued on request at a cost of £10.
10. Important Notice for Learners with Health Conditions
If you have any health conditions or specific needs, please inform us at least 15 working days before booking your course. This helps us provide the necessary support for a safe and positive learning experience.
11. Personal Information:
We collect personal information provided during course bookings, which is shared with our Approved Training Centre for seamless course delivery. This includes:
We use this data to enhance our services, support you, and fulfil agreements, including responding to inquiries, improving security, and preventing fraud. We may contact you with updates and surveys as part of our legitimate interest.
We retain your personal information as needed for service delivery, legal compliance, and business operations. For retention queries, contact info@securityskillstraining.co.uk. ID and address proof for license courses are deleted after verification.
12. SIA Licence Linked Training - Mandatory Terms
Candidates undertaking SIA Licence Linked Training (including Refresher Training) are required to fully complete any self-study pre-requisites as instructed by their Tutor / Assessor.
Where a candidate fails to complete the required self-study or fails to provide the required Group A & Group B ID Documents, English Functionality or any other requirement, they will be unable to participate in any training and will be removed from the course.
Security Skills Training does not accept any responsibility should a candidate be removed/unable to participate in an SIA Course, including financial or otherwise.
Any course pre-requisites or self-study is a requirement of the Awarding Body & Industry Regulator (The SIA) and will be retained on file for a period of time as required.
Proof of Identity Documents – These must be submitted to us prior to starting the course – 1 x Photographic ID (Passport, Driving Licence) & 2 x proof of address dated in the last 3 months (bank statement/utility bill) provided to us before attending training.
Evidence of First Aid training – If you currently hold a Valid First Aid Certificate with 12 months or more remaining on its validity this must be provided to us and you will be exempt from the EFAW Training day. If you do not hold a valid First Aid certificate, you must attend at least an EFAW training course prior to attending an SIA course
English Functionality, you will be required to pass the required standard at the beginning of your course.
ACT Awareness & ACT Security E-Learning – Both online courses must be completed – E-Learning | ProtectUK – please send completion certificates to us by email before attending training.
Self-Study Workbook – You are required to complete an element of self-study in the form of a workbook which will be supplied on booking your course. This must either be submitted to us (scanned) by email prior to attending training or brought with you on day 1 of your training.
13. Photographs
If you are taking part in one of our SIA courses, it is mandatory for ID Photographs to be supplied or taken. Elements of the SIA courses, for example the Physical Intervention module, must be recorded and sent to the SIA. This will be covered in your joining instructions.
From time-to-time photographs or filming may be taken of classes for promotional purposes, i.e. posters, press releases, social media posts or for assessments of our instructors. If you have any objections to being photographed, please inform us by email.
Warranties
Security Skills Training warrants that:
Courses supplied will be conducted in a professional manner in accordance with generally recognised practices and standards and it will provide appropriately qualified and experienced instructor(s) to deliver courses using suitable course materials.
